أفتتح قائد الكتيبة الإسبانية في القطاع الشرقي المقدّم رافائيل سالاس سانشيز، مشروع إنارة طريق في بلدة الماري، بحضوررئيس البلدية السيد يوسف فياض، افراد قوات اليونيفيل وأعضاء البلدية وممثلي القوات المسلحة اللبنانية والسلطات المحلية.

رحب رئيس البلدية بالضيوف وبعدها تم الاستماع الى الاناشيد الوطنية. تمّ التوقيع على وثيقة استلام المشروع من قبل المقدم ورئيس البلدية. ثمن كليهما التفاهم المتبادل والتعاون بين اليونيفيل والسكان المحليين.

بلغت تكلفة هذا المشروع حوالي ٢۳۰۰۰ دولار اميريكي بتمويل من اسبانبا ، وهو عبارة عن تركيب شيكة كهرباء و ۱٢٥ لمبة LED لإنارة الطريق الرئيسي بين العباسية والماري. يعود هذا المشروع بالنفع على سكان البلدة إذ يزودهم لالانارة الكافية لتنظيم السير وتحسينة الرؤئية للمشاة.

شكر رئيس البلدية كل من ساهم في انجاز هذا المشروع. بدوره اشاد المقدم سالاس بالعلاقات الجيدة التي تجمع بين السكان المحليين واليونيفيل كما أكد بأن هذا المشروع يساهم في تعزيز السلامة المرورية ليلاً.

تقوم اليونيفيل، والكتائب المشاركةبدعم السكان المحلييبن ضمن الوسائل والامكانيات المتاحة للمساعدة في انماء منطقة جنوب لبنان وفقاء لقرار مجلس الامن 1701.

UNIFIL SPANISH PROJECT LED STREET LIGHTS PROVIDED ADEQUATE LIGHT FOR NIGHT TRAFFIC OF EL MERI

1. UNIFIL’s Sector East Spanish Battalion (SPANBATT) Commander Lieutenant Colonel Rafael Salas Sanchez, inaugurated project “LED STREET LIGHTS” in El Meri, in the presence of Mr. Youssef Fayad, Mayor of the El Meri, UNIFIL peacekeepers, municipality members, Lebanese Armed Forces representatives and local authorities.

2. Guests were warmly welcomed by the Mayor of the village followed by playing of anthems. The signature document was handed over between the SPANBATT Commander and the Mayor. Both were appreciating the mutual understanding and collaboration among UNIFIL personals and Locals.

3. In this project, costed around 23,000 $ funded by Spain, consists of the installation of an electrical network and 125 led streetlights on the main road between villages Abasiva and El meri. This project will benefit directly to the inhabitants of the village improving the adequacy of street light for the traffic and pedestrians.

4. The Mayor expressed his gratitude for the project. In his speech, Lieutenant Colonel Salas stressed on the good ties that connect the local residents and UNIFIL, seeing that the project helps the residents of the towns to move safely at night.

5. UNIFIL, as well as national contingents, within its means and capabilities supports to the population contributing to the development of Lebanon as required in the UN resolution 1701.
